Shwekey Israel Summer 2013 – Coverage + Photos
Superstar Yaakov Shwekey landed last week in Israel on a tour circuit around the country. He made his first stop in the concert hall of Tzfat, together with Mayor Ilan Shochet, who joined Yaakov in singing “Im Eshkacheich”, and was arranged by local philanthropist, Ronen Ganon.
The next day, Yaakov went down with his “crew”, and gave a large performance to about 5,000 people in Rechovot. There, he was joined by Mendy Jerufi, Chaim Israel, and child wonder Eili Avidani, who gave a very emotional duet with Yaakov in “Yesimcho”. The concert was arranged by the Ministry of Education of Rechovot.
The final concert was in Haifa, which exhibited the finest musicians in Israel and was filled to capacity. Many people were turned away from the show because they weren’t able to buy tickets in time. After the concert Shwekey went to the Rambam hospital in Haifa, where he gave a special performance to a child whose parents had bought for him a ticket to the concert, but was medically prohibited to attend according to the doctors.
Yochi Briskman and his orchestra accompanied Shwekey on his tour, along with Sharon Daniel Productions who supplied the multimedia and lights, etc.
During the course of his stay in Israel Shwekey was also interviewed on a number of radio stations about his new album from the concert in Nokia Stadium.
