Eilecha Lev V’Nefesh – The Ancient Piyyut Is Renewed With A New Moving Melody
Rikki Karov and her husband Tzviki have 3 children and live in Rechovot. She works in a medical clinic, but she is a musician in her heart, playing the piano for many years already. She began composing songs, and about 6 years ago began to collect some of the best ones into an album.
She turned to Eran Klein to help her produce the album, and along the way, added more new songs to the list. Simultaneously, to expand the listenership that she would be targeting, she and Eran began searching for a singer to perform these songs for the album.
Barak Kramer is a father of ten children who lives in Karmei Tzur in Gush Etzion, as well as a graduate of Chanan Avital’s Pirchei Yerushalayim Choir. He is a Tanach teacher in the Noam Yeshiva in Yerushalayim on a day to day basis, and had been working on an album of his own with Eran while Eran was also working with Rikki. Eran presented the idea to Barak, who responded very positively to it. Barak says that Rikki’s songs are soft and beautiful, and touch your soul in special ways, and Eran’s arrangements are also very special and meaningful.
The album, which will be released in the coming months, will be called Tipot Emunah. Here is the first taste of the album, called Eilecha Lev V’Nefesh, from the Slichos of the Asseres Yemei Teshuva.
