Joey Newcomb – To Be a Jew [Album Sampler]
A message from Joey Newcomb
As I release my debut album I want to take the time to reflect on this long journey. It’s been an amazing opportunity to be able to Farbreng with all types of audiences. To be able to bring Simcha to people at their happiest moments, to be able to inspire Yidden who are going through tough times, and to be able to put a smile on peoples faces through Mili Dishtusa around the world.
The highest level of inspiration is when those few people have expressed to me what the songs have meant to them. When someone told me how they listened to “Its Never Too Late” on Erev Yom Kippur, when he was feeling low and the words It’s Never Too Late gave him the Chizzuk he needed, or when someone told me how he felt such a warm sense of Ahavas Yisroel when listening to Bnei Hamelech, when he realized how no matter what kind of jew, and no matter how different you may look, we are all brothers, and we’re all Bnei Hamelech.
As I meet more and more Yidden, I see the fire of Yiddishkeit burning. The desire to be Bisimcha, to grow, and to have pride in being a yid, which is relevant now more than ever.
I thank Hashem for the opportunity to be able to spread this light. I wrote each song from a place of personal experience. I never sat down to write a song. They all came to me in moments. Please enjoy the deepness and entertainment of this album and try to hear the message of the songs. It will make the experience much greater. I hope this album brings smiles and inspiration. If it positively affects one person, then it was all worth it.
I’m not here to sell music to you. I’m here to sing to your soul and join together on this journey of sharing in the joy and fire of being a Yid. I invite you to listen to the music that I’ve made so far and to make beautiful music of k’vod shem shamayim together. Music is very personal for each of us, and as you listen to my collection of music here on this album, let your thoughts wander, your mind widen, and your heart glow as we grow together through the power of the niggun.
