Something went wrong with the connection!

Tani Polansky | Soulful Living (Lyric Video)

This song has been a dream and a prayer for years now, an expression of both my own and all of our struggles, with the prayer that came out of them. The Torah teaches us that every single struggle a person goes through, every up and every down, is to bring us to prayer. To take that yearning, brokenness, joy, or whatever we feel and to elevate it, to “let our souls scream out the deepest cry”. Let us use this as a call, a prayer for “Soulful Living”, for a life of connection to the truth and passion we all yearn for in our heart of hearts.

I’d love to hear your connection to the song in the comments below, if it resonates with you – share it!

Lyrics:

Father,
Are you listening
Do you hear my prayer
Its been so hard
And some times it seems
Like im gasping for air

And I know your light Is shining
Within me
And I know your love, oh your love
Surrounds me
So I’m begging you
Won’t you hear me out
Let my words break through these walls
That are holding me
Back from you
Father hear my call

Take my soul
Take my soul
Up to heaven for the night
So you can show me your love
Show me your love
And give it back to me, in the morning light
So beautiful
So beautiful
For another day of this beautiful life
For another day of SOULFUL LIVING

Im trying to hard just to believe
In the things that I feel
But sometimes I
Cant see
Wool over my eyes
Feeling like the black sheep
Want to be like the rest
Shining and pristine
But because I’m sitting
And feeling this way
I don’t see the love surrounding me
And I’m not seeing it through the dark
But everyones looking at me
And you’re looking at me
But I’m not looking at me
Oh I’m not looking at me
Seeing the beauty in the soul that you gave me
Please help me father, I need you to

Take my soul…

Living this life like on a fast moving train
Running around
Blind and in pain
Wondering why we feel so empty inside
Desperate for meaning
in our lives
Theres a lesson here
A truth to be learned
G-d’s been waiting to help us
At every turn
And all we can do
Is look up to the sky and
let our soul scream out
the deepest cry

Take my soul…
