A Groundbreaking Musical Venture: “K’fitzas Haderech” With The Frist In The Series “Didoh Bei 2022”
An unusual new venture is underway these days. The first musical work from the “K’fitzas Haderech” series is published on Rosh Chodesh Kislev, and opens the signal for a monthly tradition, Ltd.: Each Rosh Chodesh, another song in the series will be distributed.
The first song is “Didoh Bei” composed by Yossi Green and performed with great grace by Avraham Fried. The song, which was recorded in 1996, immediately became a hit, and since then has been on the shelf of songs of classic Jewish hits.
The “K’fitzas Haderech” project selects a classic worthy of contemporary and up-to-date electronic music, “pulls out” with innovative technology the voice of the original song performer, rebuilds the song and arrangement – and presents listeners with a new work starring the singer’s original voice. Thus, the ‘K’fitzas Haderech‘ that the new song has made since it was created many years ago, to a contemporary sound and style – makes it a vibrant and up-to-date song, with great respect for the original arrangement, without destroying it, or chas v’shalom, lowering it to a level.
The project is the brainchild of Yochanan Bleich, a talented music arranger, media person and parade presenter Kobi Sela and branding and design strategist Eyal Gur who designed the graphic language of the entire project. So far, 8 songs have been prepared in the K’fitzas Haderech Lab, and more songs are in the works.
Yohanan Bleich creates and arranges mostly modern electronic music, and does not intend to stop with it, but the hits he grew up with from childhood are songs by MBD, Avraham Fried, Miaim Boys Choir, Michoel Streicher and the like. “In nostalgic classics. We felt a miss that for the most part is unfamiliar to the younger generation today – even though in previous decades they were immensely popular hits played at every wedding and event. That’s where the idea was born to make ‘K’fitzas Haderech‘ for some past hits, give them an innovative electronic twist and combine nostalgia with the future generation.
It is not yet clear how the new works will be received by the composer and singers who originally performed them, but regarding the first song in the project, “Didoh Bei“, Avraham Fried has already responded with admiration ….
