The background story of Aaron Razel’s latest single from his next album is nothing short of incredible.
In the past few years Aaron established himself in the Kollel of Midreshet Ziv, a Kollel for Baalei Teshuva in the old Shaarei Chessed neighborhood of Yerushalayim.
The new single, called Ha’Balladah L’Chozer, talks about an Israeli boy and an Israeli girl. Dafna and Amit, who never kept any mitzvos until this point in their lives, met in the youth orchestra of the Kibbutz they were a part of. After the army they broke up, perhaps in part because of the spiritual journey that Amit went on in Napal, and eventually ended up in a Baal Teshuva Yeshiva in Yerushalayim.
Aaron says, “I could always tell that he never forgot his past, when the Rabbanim and his friends started trying to find him a Shidduch, he was a little bit stuck. And then, with neither one knowing about the other, Dafna also began becoming interested in Judaism, and neither one realized what would happen when the Rabbanim suggested to him a kibbutznikit from the north who recently joined the Midrasha. I was fortunate to sing under their Chuppah, and between the tears this song was born.”
This upcoming album will be Aaron’s 12th, which for the first time will be produced by Ayal Mazig.
