Every year before Purim singer Amiran Dvir releases a new upbeat single. This year’s single is called Shana Rishona, written by Amiran himself and composed and produced by Sruly Broncher. Shira Ben-Tov produced the video clip as her final project in Maaleh, the school for cinematography and art, and it features the Capoeira dancers of Studio Assai.
The song tells a story of a boy whose friends in Yeshiva one by one get married and he is left behind. At all of their weddings he davens to have his shidduch already and then finally he meets her.
Amiran says: When I sing on stage, I always see those bochurim who come each time and are being mesameiach their friend who is getting married. Then there is also the one who dances so hard at so many weddings, but he himself is left a bachelor and hasn’t found his match. I always feel a special sympathy for those boys who work so hard to dance and be mesameach their friends, and each time I daven a little bit that they should be next in line to get married.
