Asaf Shalom – “Tachanos”
“For every stage of life, there is a tune or song that fits accordingly. And in all songs of all stages of life, there is the running theme of Emunah because it is applicable in every stage, and therefore in every song.”
In the new album “Tachanos” by Asaf Shalom, struggle and nisayon are expressed through song as well as the ever changing stages of life. In an effort to further connect us the great lofty tune of above that calls to each of us “get up and go for yourself”.
Asaf Neve Shalom, 28, from Yerushalayim, was trained in classical music and jazz. During the course of his army service as medical assistant, he wrote and composed songs about Harei Levanon.In addition with the publication of the book Shiras Kol Chai and the recording of the disk accompanying the book, Asaf was involved and helped raise money for tzedaka. He has put out 2 previous albums, his debut album and the second called Likras Shabbos that was very successful selling thousands in Eretz Yisrael and Chutz L’aaretz.
Asaf has made many appearances in festivals, and in big venues. Today Asaf works with youth in regards to musical writing, and song composition. The album “Tachanos” is composed of 14 tracks, merging words from mekoros with real life experiences, as well as a combination of songs of the soul, classical music, Irish dance, rock and even a bit of sefardi-yerushalmi style tunes. Songs recorded with the help of Avi Singolda (guitarist), Daniel Ahaviel, Asher (drums) Jeff Horvitz (keyboard), and many more.
