Avi Kilimnick Releases Debut Album “HADRAN”

Avi Kilimnick was born in Rochester NY, and is the son of Rabbi Shaya Kilimnick who has been the Rabbi of Congregation Beth Sholom in Rochester for the last 38 years. Avi’s passion for music began at home where he was the recipient of beautiful Zemiros on Shabbos, and always having access to the most updated Jewish music, from Rav Shlomo Carlebach to MBD and Avraham Fried and D’vekus. The love for Jewish music continued into the mid 1990’s with new Jewish Music stars such as Dedi, Mendy Wald, Avrami Flam, Yisroel Williger, and Yehudah!.

Avi’s desire to compose music stems from his father, as he is a composer of many Niggunim. Some of his compositions can be found on Yehudah Katz Reva LiSheva albums, and ViNemar Vi’Haya was on JEP 5, the same album that has the famous song “Someday”.

Avi always loved to sing with friends at Tisches, and NCSY melava malkas. However, the idea of being a Jewish singer started when Yaakov Sheweky’s 3rd album “Yidid” was released and Kilmnick attempted to imitate his singing. He found a new voice which has given him the opportunity to sing at many of his friend’s weddings and community events.

Having both the love of composing and singing Jewish music, the journey to record an album began. For the past two years, with the help of Sebastian Sanchez and ACME Production studios in Rochester, Avi has worked and completed a CD, ready to add Simcha and meaning to Jewish life.

The album titled “Hadran” features songs which were composed over the last 15 years in different settings. There are those from his days in Sha’alvim in Eretz Yisrael and Gruss Kollel, there are those from different events taking place in his life and the world, and there are those which just come to mind as Avi walked to Shul on Shabbos and prayed to remember the tune so that he could record it after Shabbos.

HADRAN is distributed by Aderet Music and in stores and available for digital download on MostlyMusic.com, iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon Music.

Avi’s hope is for Hadran to share its music with Jewish people around the world, and to be able to be Misameach his brothers and sisters with Music Ad Biyas Goel.
