Chaim Dovid Berson – YOUR VOICE

Chaim Dovid Berson – YOUR VOICE

The Rebbe, Reb Bunim of Pshischa said, “How much would I pay to be Avraham Aveinu? Not even a penny, because HaShem doesn’t need me to be Avraham or Avraham to be me.”

“הַרְאִינִי אֶת מַרְאַיִךְ הַשְׁמִיעִינִי אֶת קוֹלֵךְ כִּי קוֹלֵךְ עָרֵב וּמַרְאֵיךְ נָאוֶה” שיר השירים ב יד
Show me your countenance, let me hear your voice, because your voice is sweet and your countenance is beautiful – we just read this in Shir HaShirim over Pesach.

In this time of imposed isolation, when we find ourselves stripped of social interactions and peer pressure, now more than ever we can look inside, look at ourselves, find out who we are rather than pretending to be someone else. HaShem wants us to show our face, use our voice because He finds each and every one of us beautiful when we make the most of who we are.

The Chasidic Rebbe Zusha of Annipoli said, “I am not afraid when I get to the Heavenly Court if they ask why I wasn’t more like Rabbi Akiva or Moshe Rabeinu. I am afraid if they ask why wasn’t I Zusha.”

This powerful message has inspired my friend Moshe Lax to compose this song and I am so excited to share it with you today!
