Gad Lior‘s last album “Ofek Chadash[1]“, attracted much attention. One reason was the fascinating cover which featured a picture of a tallis with colored tzitzis, each strand a different color. In the liner notes to the album Gad explained the reason for this. “In the Torah is written in black and white, yet when G-d looked at them and created the world, it was full of lifer and color. In the eyes of Hashem colors are not a threat to black and white. The opposite as a matter of fact is true, color is a great interpretation of this.”

The album in question, is the fourth album from Lior. Unlike his three previous albums, the more recent reflects a deep process of repentance and spiritual growth in last few years. The songs speak of Jewish Israeli youth which are not divided, and to except people different then you with love.

That is why in the middle of Ellul when we are asking Hashem for forgiveness and mercy that Gad Lior decided to releases this song from his last album. You will hear him performing the thrilling and unique poetry “Okeid V’hanekak V’hamizbeach“, of course, the story of Yitzchak avinu and the Akeida. Lior’s powerful melody gives new meaning to the words of poetry known, when he signs the song with a new original essay.
