Gobbie Cohn Releases Debut Single “Umi K’Amcha Yisroel”
Throughout our history, Jews have supported each other in times of tragedy. More recently, Jews all over the world were inextricably united in our search for our abducted teenagers Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaer, and Eyal Yifrah z”l. In the days that followed their passing, the Jewish people stayed strong and again united in our global efforts to learn and daven in the memory of these kedoshim.
Baltimore singer Gobbie Cohn, like many of us, felt a deep connection during these times to other Jews outside of his community. This experience prompted Gobbie to compose the song “Umi K’amcha Yisroel“. Teaming up with producer Hillel Kapnick, Gobbie showcases his powerful voice while spreading the positive, inspiring message that there is no one in the world quite like our nation. Although many slow, mournful tunes have been composed over the years in response to tragedy, Gobbie’s hope is that this song, which is intentionally upbeat, will be an uplifting vehicle to strengthen the bond of achdus experienced during these trying times. Our nation is special, our nation is one, and we have to feel that we are getting progressively closer to the ultimate geula bimheira v’yameinu.
