haMAKOR – World on its side
A new sound is growing out of the hilly plains of central Israel. Just as the name indicates, haMAKOR, is the origin of a unique blend of and Rock n’ Roll & Electronica, with a roots-like Jewish message. Through the combined voice of a diverse group of talented musicians from different backgrounds, a soulful, inspiring, and complex musical message is put forth. Songs are lyrically appealing and melodically charged, leaving the listener feeling energized. Messages such as finding your own path and the winding paths life take us anchor the futuristic sound to a universal meaning.
The lead singer of Hamakor is Nachman Solomon, the younger brother of Yehuda Solomon of Moshav Band and Noah Solomon of SoulFarm (both of whom appear as guests on specific songs)
World on its side is a compilation of 10 original tracks, 5 in English and 5 in Hebrew, displaying the versatility and comfort of the band to perform both within Israel and abroad, appealing to a wide ranging audience with ease.
Though the World may be “on its side”, we still find a yearning for love both physical and spiritual, a love for mankind and homeland in songs such as Shir Tzion, “Kama sheze Kashe” (how difficult it is), Memories and Should’ve known.
The touching rendition “Angels”, demonstrates the belief that no matter how low one can get, there are always Angels to “turn it around”. This reveals Nachman’s optimism in life.
Nachman Solomon’s voice is deep, rich, soulful, extremely penetrating, and his delivery will touch you like no other.
