Nachamu is a song of the moment, marking the musical comeback of legendary composer Rabbi Boruch Chait. Like Jerusalem itself, it is both timely and timeless. As a balm to soothe the aching collective heart of Jews in exile, it strikes a paradoxical chord by being both mournful and uplifting. Such is the nature of yearning.

As the camera snakes its way through the cobbled streets of the Old City, we catch up with Dudi and his ensemble of talented vocalists from Israel’s most esteemed Malchus Choir. Their journey against Jerusalem’s magnificent ruins may lament our hometown’s destruction, but their voices rise into a song of hope for the future. רגע לפני הופעת אלבום הבכורה של כוכב הזמר הצעיר דודי קנופלר מארה”ב, קבלו טעימה ראשונה לצפייה – קליפ רשמי על יצירת הפאר שמתוך האלבום – ‘נחמו’, אותו מגיש דודי בין מבואות ירושלים יחד עם מקהלת ‘מלכות’.

בשיר הרואה אור בימי נחמה אלו, המציין גם קמבק מפתיע ליצירתו של המלחין האגדי הרב ברוך צ’ייט, מקבלים ביטוי יגון הגלות לצד תקוות הגאולה, כאשר בין מוטיביו מסתתרים דברי נחמת הנביא יחד עם ייסורי הלב היהודי בציפייתו לבניין ירושלים.

עדשת המצלמה מתפתלת בינות למבואותיה של ירושלים העתיקה, עוברת דרך הכותל המערבי וסוקרת בהתרגשות את ירושלים של מעלה, כשברקע הצלילים הנוגים בוקעים מפי דודי וחברי מקהלת ‘מלכות’ בניצוחו של פנחס ביכלר.
