Superstar Ohad Moskowitz is now releasing his fifth album. It has been a number of years already, during which Ohad has plowed his way through nearly every possible stage in the world, and now the tenor has returned to the studio to create a new album. Hundreds of songs were submitted and checked, tens of arrangements were written, and endless seconds of listening, and only 11 songs merited to be entered into this incredible album.
A quick glance at the list of composers will tell you that the rumors in the music world have been true. It has been said about this album that it is reminiscent of the music of the 80’s and 90’s. Names like Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, Yossi Green, Yisroel Lamm, Moshe Laufer, Eli Lishinsky, and others are only a small part of the list of musicians both old and new. Ohad has chosen to pick up the flag of conservatism and put together an album that has modern sounds and material, but with the taste of the heritage of Jewish music.
You will also find maestro Gershon Freishtat on this album, who has accompanied Ohad on his musical journey around the world, in two arrangements. Yitzy Berry and Eli Klein composed and arranged a number of songs as well and Yoely Dickman did one song too.
Just as in any other area and in any other profession, there is a moment in the middle of a person’s career when he is able to put out his absolute maximum of his abilities. Its clear that for Ohad that moment is in the song “Maduah” composed by Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz. We can’t forget the song “Segulah” either. It is a brilliant composition of Yossi Green’s that brings us back to the days of Tanya and Aderaba. It is with this new song that you will understand why Yossi is considered one of the composition giants of the generation.
Segulah will be distributed in the US by Aderet Music and be available on MostlyMusic.com.
