Ahead of the holiday of Purim, the ‘Tzama‘ Project is releasing a special performance by Ariel Zilber of the ancient words of ‘Shoshanas Yaakov’ in a sweeping Chabad melody, which will put you well into the holiday atmosphere.
A Persian tyrant plotting annihilation against the Jewish people? Yes, this is the current reality and also the story of Purim. And as in the days of Achashveirosh and Haman, HaShem performs miracles for us and saves us from those who seek our harm. This is actually the core of the prayer said after the reading of the megilla – ‘Shoshanas Yaakov ‘. We thank the Creator of the world for being the salvation of Israel forever and their hope in every generation.
Out of the joy of the holiday, we bless the Jew Mordechai, Queen Esther and all the righteous, and even Charvona, who said the right thing at the right time; and we also clarify the cursed nature of the haters of Israel – Haman and Zeresh, and all the wicked, past and present.
The ancient words of “Shoshanas Yaakov” in the captivating Chabad melody, see the light of day in the performance of singer and composer Ariel Zilber, with the arrangement and musical production conducted by Naor Karmi. The song appears as part of the eighth album in the making of “Tzama” – a musical project that renews ancient Chassidic melodies and makes them part of the Israeli soundtrack of all of us.
A lyric video that accompanies the song, for the first time animates the unique illustrations of the renowned Chabad painter Baruch Nachshon, z”l, and especially the Chassidic figures who dance in it until they are exhausted, turning them into one big Purim celebration.
Rabbi Moshe Shilat, director of the “Tzama” project, adds that nothing is more relevant to the current reality than these ancient words. “This year, it is more important than ever that we remember that “all who trust in you will not perish forever.” Wishing all a happy Purim, a holiday of redemption and salvation.”
