“Hagaguah” is the first single from composer/arranger Yonatan Razel winner of the work on behalf of ACUM for 2011 upcoming album. Five years after he released his debut album, “Sach Hakol“, the album reached gold status and has sold more than 30,000 copies. Razel returned to work with Eviatar Banai and is currently putting the finishing touches on his second album due out early summer. The new album will feature 10 songs, including songs written by Razel and texts and tunes from sources arranged by Razel’s musical produced Eviatar Banai.
Razel, a native New Yorker moved to Israel at a young age, and was chozer betshuva with his family. As a child, he studied composition, conducting even classical music and he learned to play both the piano and cello. In his youth he took a record in the composition together with his brothers – Aaron, Yehuda and Rik. In the army his was enlisted as an outstanding musician, and his release, went on to study conducting and worked as a conductor when he finished the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Ra’anana Symphonette – and later appeared with various orchestras around the world.
In תשס”ז he released his debut album, “Sach Hakol” is produced by Eviatar Banai’s music. In תשס”ח the world was presented with the hit song “Vehi Shomada”, composed and arranged by Yonatan performed as a duet together with the Chasidic singer Yaakov Shwekey. The song when on to make waves with Jewish music fans everywhere, so much so that countless covers have released since.
