Yosef Zev Braver With A New Single: “Shefele”

Singer Yosef Zev Braver was always fascinated by the story of how Moshe Rabeinu was chosen by Hashem to lead Klal Yisroel, after he showed a tremendous amount of empathy and care to the sheep that abandoned the flock under the watch of Moshe who was the shepherd of his father-in-law Yisro of Midyan.

Around 7 years ago, was the first year that Yosef Zev was living in Jerusalem he was introduced to Bentzi German, Bentzi modestly played to him this song that he has composed while he became very emotional after a talk with his friend who was lost while looking for meaning and direction in life. “I was then a young mentor who worked with teenagers at risk who were also lost and looking for answers on what life is all about. So I was deeply connected to the depth of Bentzi‘s message” says Yosef Zev.

Then he went on to get this song arranged by musical arranger and conductor Tuli Singer from London. The music, and concept were perfect, it was just missing the perfect lyrics that should convey the message that I felt Bentzi was trying to say.

The song was sitting and gathering dust in a drawer for a few years waiting for its final lyrics to convey the songs message, as Yosef Zev knew he wasn’t going to release it only when he has the perfect lyrics.

Then came in the picture the talented producer Yossi Shick, who decided to make it his personal mission to get this song out to the world, so he brought the perfect lyrics from a dear friend Yanky Rubin from Canada.
