Yossi Green Presents: Nachamu Nachamu Ami feat. Yiddish Nachas

Before describing the inspiration behind the composition, I must first thank the רבש”ע for introducing this precious Avreich Painter to me. His name is Elisha Katz – אלישע כ”ץ from ירושלים and his incredible inner vision brought forth this powerful image of a בית המקדש השלישי! What I felt as soon as I saw his painting I don’t have to put into words, because I know that everyone who perceives it will feel what I felt. In a few short words, עומד על גג בית המקדש ומשמיע לישראל ואומר… as an image is now so much closer for me… and I hope for everyone else who sees it. Thank you, אלישע!

The song Nachamu Nachamu is בעזהשי”ת the first song released from our new project, Yiddish Nachas 5. These holy comforting words spoken by הקב”ה through ישעיהו הנביא have been with me for so many years. Each year at the culmination of the fast of Tisha B’av and the beginning of the שבע דנחמתא, the seven weeks of Nechama, I would once again sit at the piano and attempt to “understand” the beautiful words “musically.” But I just  couldn’t break through. A while ago, with great סייעתא דשמיא, a window seemed to open for me, as the Melody began to flow together with the words. What Klal Yisroel has been going through recently defies understanding and clearly seems to point toward the End of Times foretold to us. Clearly evident that the final Mishna in מסכת סוטה has come to life and the times of the Advent of Bias Hamishiach are upon us. There just is no other explanation! This time, I felt a sense of calm… a sense of deep comforting… a sense of… perhaps, this could be what I’d been searching for. I called my musical partner in Yiddish Nachas, the super-talented Moshe Kraus and ran it by him and watched as he began to smile and nod, saying: “Yes, the kids will sound angelic on this melody!”

Here then is Nachamu Nachamu Ami by Yiddish Nachas and Soloist
Moshe Lobel. Hope it brings you comfort and melts your heart as it did ours!

Lyrics:
